Position summary
The Dean of Global Campus leads Andrews University's comprehensive approach to online education, international education, and innovative delivery modalities. The Dean reports to the Chief Academic Officer and provides strategic leadership for Andrews University's integrated portfolio of online education, international education, off-campus programs, and global academic services, overseeing a coordinated set of academic, compliance, and student-ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂsupport units that enable high-quality learning across multiple delivery modalities.
Qualifications summary
The candidate will have a terminal degree with a minimum of seven years of leadership experience in higher ed, particularly in online education, international education, or innovative program delivery. The candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, and educational leadership with deep understanding of trends in global higher education, online learning, and international partnerships. Experience with consortial relationships, partnership development, and multi-cultural educational environments is essential.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Articulates and implements a comprehensive vision for Global Campus that integrates online education, international education, off-campus programs, and innovative academic delivery models.
- Advocates for resources and strategic partnerships to position Global Campus as a leader among peer institutions while promoting Global Campus mission through institutional representation and external relationship building.
- Serves as Andrews University's primary liaison for strategic educational partnerships and consortial relationships including Michigan Colleges Alliance, Acadeum, and Consortium for Adventist Higher Education Online.
- Provides strategic oversight of online education programs, ensuring academic quality and regulatory compliance for online and international education.
- Provides strategic oversight for the development and maintenance of international partnership agreements, negotiates partnership terms and revenue sharing, and represents Andrews University in consortial governance and strategic planning activities.
- Providers strategic oversight of International Student Services through the Associate Dean for Global Campus, integrating international education, compliance requirements, and support for global learners across online and off-campus programs.
- Oversees compliance and standards for all online and off-campus programs university-wide.
- Collaborates with other deans on delivery standards while they maintain content and discipline-specific authority.
- Serves as primary interface with CFO for Global Campus budget planning and advocacy while delegating operational budget management to unit directors and associate deans.
- Coordinates revenue streams from partnerships, online programs, and international initiatives across multiple campus codes.
- Partners with other deans to support financially sustainable online and off-campus programs across all colleges.
- Makes strategic resource allocation decisions and negotiates financial terms for consortial agreements and international partnerships.
- Provides strategic input on university-wide technology implementations affecting Global Campus operations and collaborates with CIO on enterprise-level initiatives.
- Contributes specialized knowledge of online delivery dependencies to inform institutional technology decisions while supporting smooth integration with Global Campus compliance requirements.
- Works collaboratively with institutional accreditation leadership to ensure Global Campus programs meet all relevant accreditation standards for online and international education.
Supervisory responsibilities
The Dean directly supervises staff, administrators, and coordinators of academic and service units and centers within the Global Campus.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in relevant academic discipline
- Minimum 7 years of higher education experience with significant leadership responsibility
- Experience with online education, international education, and/or innovative program delivery
- Record of successful partnership development and consortial relationship management
Leadership and Management:
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex organizational structures
- Experience with budget management, strategic planning, and change management
- Understanding of international higher education systems and partnerships
- Knowledge of online education technologies, pedagogies, and quality assurance
Spiritual and Institutional Alignment:
- Commitment to Adventist education mission and values
- Ability to provide spiritual leadership and promote faith integration
- Cultural competency and experience working in multicultural environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as dean, associate dean, or senior academic administrator
- Track record of successful international program development
- Experience with accreditation processes for online and international education
- Multilingual capabilities and international living/working experience
- Research and publication record in areas relevant to Global Campus mission

Technical competencies
Proficiency in data analysis tools, learning management systems, student information systems, and budgeting software, with the ability to leverage technology for strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and online program delivery.

The Dean engages daily with diverse stakeholders and provides spiritual and academic leadership that fosters mutual respect, cultural understanding, and collaborative relationships across global contexts. The Dean advocates effectively for Global Campus faculty, staff, and students while upholding integrity and mission-ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂaligned decision-making.
