However, access to the data needed to prescribe targeted therapies varies by country, and without this knowledge, the treatment options are limited for patients. Moreover, existing targeted therapies were created for the cancers that most affect populations of European heritage, and the cancer burden differs across populations. In this role, Sonya leads teams delivering high-impact poverty reduction programs and provides strategic leadership, visioning and direction setting for a network of over 120 offices worldwide. Sonya forges partnerships in the public and private sectors that align with ADRA’s values of justice, compassion and love. Prior to joining ADRA in 2007, Sonya worked in the field of reproductive health and as a clinical therapist for vulnerable populations in northern Virginia.
